BEE INSPIRED
Eriksen leads Brentford to first win against Chelsea since 1939
BY HARRY PRATT
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN’S fairytale return continued as he inspired Brentford to a shock win at London rivals Chelsea.
The Dane scored his first Premier League goal since making his comeback with the Bees after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 in June.
He also scored two for his country during last week’s international break.
It was Brentford’s first win over their west London neighbours since 1939.
Bees boss Thomas Frank said: “The way Christian presents himself on and off the pitch is very impressive.
“I said to him after he scored for Denmark that I hope he’s saved some goals for Brentford and he has. There is so much pain in football so it’s important the fans enjoy this.”
