MICHAEL APPLETON felt Morgan Whittaker showed his inexperience, after scoring then seeing red in the win at Charlton.

The 21-year old opened the scoring for the visitors but saw red for a secondhalf challenge.

The game had already saw one dismissal, with Alex Gilbey sent off for the hosts.

Lincoln manager Appleton said “It was just a bit silly to give the referee that decision.” Anthony Scully added to Whittaker’s opener, before late Jayden Stockley header made it uncomfortable.
