Rare happy ending.. for a dog

- BY SEAN RAYMENT

UKRAINIAN soldiers have discovered dozens of starving dogs abandoned by owners killed or forced to flee by Russian troops.

One lucky animal, right, was rescued in Bucha, near Kyiv, after the Russian retreat.

The terrified dog, thought to be part Siberian husky, was found curled-up and shivering in the footwell of a bullet-ridden car. It is believed he had been waiting days for his owners to return.

Details were revealed on Twitter by Ukrainian MP Olexander Scherba.

He wrote: “#UkrainianArmy found a dog, halfalive. They took him to the vet. The vet took him to his home. Kinda happy-end. Aside from the fact there is no trace of the owners.” It is claimed hungry Russian troops have had to eat pets.
