I was really sad to hear about the death of June Brown at the age of 95. Dot Cotton was one of the original matriarchs and it was incredible for me to see workingclass characters like that on screen when I was growing up. Characters like hers gave a rea

down-to-earth and real and showed what it’s like to live in a working-class community.

She gave an insight into the trials and tribulations of workingclass life and that amazing sense of community to the screen. I related to her so much.

A wonderful character on and off the screen, she will be missed by millions.
