Some home truths about your trainers
THE majority of under-40s only wear trainers indoors, a survey has revealed.
Around 80% of those polled said they put them on to work or watch TV – but 12% of those aged 18 to 39 own at least 16 pairs.
Some 45% said they like posting pictures of their pristine trainers on social media and 10% hope to sell them on for a profit when they become classics. Just 20% wear them to do exercise, compared with 73% of 40 to 55-year-olds and 60% of those aged 55 to 74.
Andrew Cheney, from insurer Hiscox – which carried out the survey – said: “It is often as much about buying new pairs as an investment.”
