WIGAN superstar Bevan French is happy to play second fiddle as a player for now.

The Aussie, who is back after 11 months out, will not be in his favoured full-back spot following Jai Field’s sensational performances there this season.

But French said: “I am not really surprised by how well Jai is doing. I know what he’s capable of.

“For me it’s just about getting back and competing in whatever way I can. I just want to play, whether that’s on the wing, centre or coming off the bench.

“We all know that teams hate going to Wakefield.

“They have some good players who can do special things.

“If you get a slow start at Wakefield it is tough to come back from that.”
