Evans shows Jaguar bite

MITCH EVANS stormed from ninth to first to give Jaguar’s season a power boost it needed. The Kiwi (below) produced the drive of the season in Rome to go past his title contenders.

Ex-McLaren F1 ace Stoffel Vandoorne was the pole-sitter and spent the bulk of the race battling with Robin Frijns before Evans took over.

Both Jaguar drivers were off the top 10 before the weekend and Evans said: “This is my second win here, I’m feeling great now after a tough start to the season. The team have put in a lot of work behind the scenes and the car was perfect.”
