Casemiro: Blues not done yet
REAL MADRID star Casemiro has warned their Champions League quarterfinal with Chelsea is far from over despite his side’s stunning first-leg victory.
Real have one foot in the semis after Karim Benzema’s hat-trick gave them a 3-1 advantage over Thomas Tuchel’s (below) European champions to take back to the Bernabeu.
But the Brazilian said of Tuesday’s second leg against the Blues: “Today, any big club is able to score goals in any stadium and, as a result, we have to be focused from the first minute.
“We have the advantage but still nothing is settled. For us to pass through this round, we need to play a big match and to forget the scoreline in London.
“Our challenge is to dominate the ball and make sure Chelsea don’t get comfortable.
“Now we must make sure we reach the semifinals and that we can keep dreaming of a magical season for the club.”
Liverpool host Benfica on Wednesday after a 3-1 first-leg win in Portugal.
Benfica striker Darwin Nunez said: “Liverpool are a great team but we are not afraid of them. We will work to get a good result.”
