JOHN SHERIDAN took encouragement for Oldham’s survival fight despite defeat.

Christopher Missilou and Davis Keillor-Dunn cancelled out goals from Jamie Proctor, but Brad Walker won it for Vale. Sheridan said: “We’ve got to take that into the next five games.”

Vale assistant Andy Crosby said: “We’ve spoken to Brad about being higher.

“It was great to see that fly in.”
