Dunny’s Hairdryer

-

DAVID MOYES was clearly angry, yet managed not to lose his cool – but a punter on social media got it just about right.

“An absolute b***end.”

Yep, the reference was to the West Ham ‘fan’ who ran on to the pitch when Moyes’s team – down to 10 men – were mounting a rare, late attack in the 1-1 draw against Lyon on Thursday night.

The game was stopped and the attack was over.

The ‘fan’ (above) got pelters from the crowd and on Twitter.

But the problem is the number of morons who want to get on the field of play seems to be growing week by week.

Proper West Ham supporters bemoaned the shortage of stewards to stop Thursday’s intrusions – there were actually two that evening – but do we really want to see every pitch hermetically sealed off by an unbroken line of high-vis, low-paid jackets?

No. The answer has to be in the punishments. Nothing less than a lifetime ban from the stadium should suffice.

And they should be prosecuted for trespassing – as should parents or guardians who allow their kids on to the pitch.

You might not think it by the ridiculous amount of bodies that pour on from the benches but the pitch is for the players.

Let’s make sure it stays that way.
