Beeb maintains radio silence for Will
Will Young must have found it quite ironic when he was asked by the BBC to, ahem, Leave Right Now.
The chart-topping singer had been filling for DJ Jo Whiley on Radio 2 whenever she was off.
Jo even gave Will regular shoutouts on social media to thank him for keeping her seat warm while she was away.
However, Will was left gutted after he was promptly dropped from the high-profile gig.
Speaking of the unceremonious dumping, he says: “I was really upset. I do a really good job on that show. I was like, ‘Mother f **** r!’ You know? Then it comes – the feelings… ‘It’s all going wrong now, what am I going to do when I’m 60?!’ I literally go there.
“And then I’m annoyed at myself because I’m feeling really uncomfortable feelings.”
When asked about the decision, a spokesperson for the Beeb says: “Radio 2 will continue to use a range of presenters to deputise for programmes across the station.”
Will’s people declined to comment further.
I hope they don’t add insult to injury and ask Gareth Gates to
do it next time around…
