Day’s work a struggle for young staff
YOUNG workers find the office tougher than older colleagues, a poll found.
Almost half of 18 to 24-year-olds feel “fatigued” after a day’s work, with 46% saying workload, stress and high expectations left them drained.
That fell only slightly, to 40%, for 25 to 39-year-olds.
But among those aged 40 to 55, only 27% of 2,071 adults polled said they struggled with the work day – plunging to just 19% of 55 to 74-year-olds.
Claire Trachet, of business advisory firm Trachet, said: “Older workers are probably more conditioned to the demands.”
Three in four 18 to 24-year-olds want to find a job that drains them less.
