FEVER SYNDROME ★★

In Alexis Zigerman’s overly ambitious, wildly unoriginal new melodrama, Robert Lindsay, left, dominates as a lionised
IVF pioneer battling Parkinson’s. He brought joy to countless families but neglected his own, who gather on the eve of his latest award.
Elegantly displayed on a cross-sectioned three-storey house, is histrionically overstuffed with themes of inheritance, genetics and ethics, gay identity, cryptocurrency and art – all wrapped in a theatrically well-trodden dysfunctional privileged family package.
Fine performances throughout and some deft writing can’t disguise that it has nothing new to say and can’t convince us to care.
