Foxes set example to follow

- BY CLIVE HETHERINGTON

NEWCASTLE boss Eddie Howe admits Leicester are proof that the Premier League’s established order can be challenged.

But he refuses to be lured into predicting whether the ambitious Magpies could emulate the Foxes next season – and win the title a year after avoiding relegation.

Howe said: “I don’t know about them being a template, but they’re certainly a team I respect.

“I’m sure everyone at Newcastle respects them for the way they have gone about building a football club and trying to generate a successful and consistent team.

“They’re certainly a club for us to look at.”

And on Newcastle’s chances of making a giant leap from one season to the next like Leicester, he stressed: “I think a lot would have to happen for us to dramatically change into next season.

“We’re still battling for points to stay in the league, it isn’t a time for me to project myself forward into next season too much.”
