GUNS AIM AT BLUES

- BY DAVID SNEYD

ARSENAL star Katie McCabe has her sights set on a Double triumph.

The Gunners Women face Chelsea in today’s FA Cup semi-final as part of a thrilling climax to the current campaign.

The London rivals are also vying for the Women’s Super League title – the Blues lead by a single point – and McCabe (above) is embracing the pressure that comes with success.

She said: “It’s nice being up that end of the table.

“We’re in the hunt for trophies this season. It’s why we play football, to play in those pressure moments.

“We say pressure is a privilege. It’s what you work towards in training, all those games you play growing up, to be in title races, semi-finals of big, massive competitions.

“It’s what you thrive on. You enjoy the experience with your team-mates through it all as well. For me, I’m just enjoying being part of Arsenal and what we’re doing.

“The league is in Chelsea’s hands at the minute, they’re leading. We just need to maintain our form. It was nice to get the 5-0 win against Leicester City, heading into the international break.

“All we can control is what we do on the pitch, how we perform and how we can win games.

“We need to maintain that right through to May. Let’s hope we’re still in a good position – if the opposition slip up, then we can capitalise on it. There are big games to come.”
