Tuchel: New owners must nurture kids
CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel hopes the Blues’ next owners will recognise the success of the club’s academy and continue to nurture it.
Mason Mount, who was superb against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all come through
Chelsea’s academy.
And with Conor
Gallagher, on loan at Crystal Palace, to Fikayo Tomori at AC Milan, other products of the
Blues’ youth system are tearing it up elsewhere.
Tuchel said:
“The academy is a big part of this club. Chelsea is much more than only the first team, so I can only hope everybody sees that and takes care about it in hopefully the same way.
“I think the board will tell anybody who buys this club the same thing.
“I hope for the new buyer it is as important as it is for us and the fans. The mix between players from abroad and those from the academy is what makes any team special.”
