Wolves in for Nunes

WOLVES want to add to their Portuguese contingent by signing attacking midfielder Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon.

Nunes, who was born in Brazil but who has a Portuguese passport, has played every game for his club this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists all told.

He is expected to be named in Portugal’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

The 23-year-old is also being chased by clubs in Italy, but Wolves believe they are in pole position.

Sporting need to sell at least two players this summer to help fund a squad refresh – and Nunes could go for offers above £30million.
