Tuch too much?

AS with the finest drama, football is often at its most exciting when only fully resolved in the final act.

And, yes, there are also some engrossing subplots going on simultaneously.

This season’s two main protagonists – the Scousers and Citeh – have been staging what seems to be a riveting and relentless battle to the bitter end.

Yesterday saw the FA Cup hopes of Citeh exit stage left. But the denouement of the Prem title is still awaited, as could be the Champions League Final between the two English clubs on May 28.

Today, of course, last year’s Champions League winners take centre stage in the second FA Cup semifinal

– in what is going to be a crucial week on and off the pitch, with the issue of new Chelsea owners closing in on a resolution.

Beat the Eagles today and Herr Tuchel can consider some consolation silverware, following that epic midweek defeat to

Real Madrid.

Lose – and Wednesday’s Prem confrontation with the Gunners takes on far greater significance.

Because the best unresolved subplot is ‘The Capital Battle’ – with four London sides challenging fiercely for those last two Champions League places.

Then throw Man United in as another contender and you can see why Tuesday’s Prem game against Herr Klopp’s lot could have a bearing on the title AND top-four places.

Last week witnessed some of the best live TV matches of the season.

This week, take your seat – and prepare for more!
