Civil service ire at Jacob Rees-Mock
A UNION has blasted Jacob Rees-Mogg for mocking civil servants who work from home.
The minister for government efficiency left notes in empty Whitehall offices saying: “Sorry you were out when I visited. I look forward to seeing you in the office very soon.”
The FDA union, which represents top public servants, branded the printed cards – with a government crest at the top – “crass” and “condescending”.
General secretary Dave Penman said they showed the MP had no clue about modern work practices.
Mr Rees-Mogg is on a “back to the office” drive.
A source said: “He strongly believes government works best when as many people as possible are in their departments.”
