Church bosses had a bone to pick with the makers of Ridley Scott’s Napoleon biopic, who wanted to use the inside of Westminster Cathedral to recreate the Kremlin.

They told producers it was not appropriate after Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

The movie moguls accepted they’d met their Waterloo and agreed to film the scenes in CGI.

And churchmen had the satisfaction of knowing they’d succeeded in picking the Napoleon bone apart.
