Posh tipple is a rum old do
A few years ago I grew obsessed with posh rum, fascinated by smells, flavours, lingering tastes.
This week I bought some stuff from Jamaica called Hampden Estate after reading a review that said: “On the nose it has the aroma of over-brewed tea.” When it arrived, I sniffed it, until I thought “YES. I CAN smell over-brewed tea.” I could have got that effect by making
tea and brewing it too long. But it wouldn’t be the same, because if you’re going to turn into a pretentious knob, you might as well do it
properly.
