Will Marine be paying Le Penalty?
I watched the debate between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen for today’s French presidential election.
Le Pen waved her arms and shouted about how Muslims were trying to destroy the “French way of life”. Meanwhile, Macron stared at her calmly, with a deep fixed gaze.
Occasionally he nodded with a terrifying glance, and I realised he was modelling himself on Michael Corleone, the gangster from The Godfather played by Al Pacino.
After the election I expect he’ll tell her quietly “Madame Le Pen, you made me angry. And that’s disappointing.”
Then we’ll never see her again. And it will be best not to ask where she’s gone.
