Wasters who dump on the neighbours
GETTING rid of garden waste is no problem for antisocial homeowners – they simply chuck it over their neighbour’s fence.
Less than half of Brits dispose of cuttings and trimmings at an official tip or recycling centre and just under 30% put it in the correct domestic bin.
But a disturbing number hurl it next door, according to a survey by waste disposal firm Hippo ahead of National Gardening Week next month.
When asked what they do with garden waste, answers included: “Chuck it over the wall”, “Use the black bin,” and “Throw it over the neighbour’s fence.”
Hippo boss Gareth Lloyd-Jones said: “It is obviously not acceptable, no matter how stumped you are about getting rid.”
