Cutting cost of pet travel
I have found a better way to take pets to Europe to avoid paying the costly £150 fee for the animal health certificate that is required every time you travel there from the UK.
It’s a policy that came in as a direct result of Brexit.
While in France, I got my dog a French passport, which means that every time we visit, we no longer have to pay for health certificates.
As we go to France several times a year, this saves us a lot of money.
Getting a French passport is simple – just take your dog to a vet there with their immunisation history. It takes around 30 minutes to process and costs €150.
However, do bear in mind you need a French address.
