Djokovic reaches final on home turf

NOVAK DJOKOVIC will play in his first final of 2022 in today’s Serbia Open.

In front of his home crowd in Belgrade, Djokovic (above) came from behind to beat Russian Karen Khachanov 4-6 6-1 6-2 yesterday.

The clay-court event is Djokovic’s third this season after a disrupted start to the year.

On his return earlier this month, he lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the Monte Carlo Masters.

JONATHAN REA moved into the World Championsh­ip lead after fending off Alvaro Bautista to win his 99th race for Kawasaki at Assen.

The six-time champion led a threerider scrap to the flag in Holland as he beat Bautista’s Aruba Ducati by 0.103secs, with Toprak Razgatliog­lu’s Pata Yamaha third.

Rea said: “It was a nice race because the bike was working well. I want to thank my guys because we’ve changed the bike quite radically.”
