Albiol: Odds are no issue

THE fact Liverpool are favourites to beat Villarreal in their Champions League semi-final is of no consequence to Raul Albiol.

Because the same was true of Juventus and Bayern Munich, and look where those bookies’ odds got the Italian and German giants against the Spaniards.

Albiol (right) said: “I understand the press considers Liverpool as the favourites in this semi-final — it is normal because of their history.

“But for us it is the same situation as the last matches against Juventus and Bayern Munich, and now we are in the semi-finals.

“After knocking out Bayern there was no euphoria in our squad because we knew we hadn’t won anything yet. Now at this stage of the Champions League, there is much equality between the clubs and any of them can reach the final.”
