Green Leo’s Bolsonaro vote battle
LEONARDO DiCaprio has been blasted by President Jair Bolsonaro after urging young Brazilians to oust him to help save the planet.
The Wolf of Wall Street star is a green campaigner.
And he said Brazil’s election’s this year were critical worldwide after far-right leader Mr Bolsonaro cut environmental safeguards.
“Brazil is home to the Amazon and other ecosystems critical to climate change,” he said.
“What happens there matters to all – youth voting is key in driving change for a healthy planet.”
Mr Bolsonaro sarcastically responded: “Thanks for your support, Leo! It’s really important to have every Brazilian voting.
“Our people will decide if they want to keep sovereignty on the Amazon.”
