BBC show Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival sees the extreme athlete, aka The Ice Man (below), expose celebritie­s to cold-temperatur­e experience­s.

He is famous for taking ice baths every day and

starting the craze in this country. The benefits include helping with injury recovery and better sleep.

I’ve tried cold-water treatments myself and certainly found them energising and rejuvenati­ng. However, people must be warned about the potential dangers of this

popular therapy which can even lead to death.

It is vital that you slowly acclimatis­e first by taking cold showers.

And before plunging into an ice bath, gradually introduce your body to the ice water – feet, then legs, torso and so on.
