Please beware of the ice
BBC show Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival sees the extreme athlete, aka The Ice Man (below), expose celebrities to cold-temperature experiences.
He is famous for taking ice baths every day and
starting the craze in this country. The benefits include helping with injury recovery and better sleep.
I’ve tried cold-water treatments myself and certainly found them energising and rejuvenating. However, people must be warned about the potential dangers of this
popular therapy which can even lead to death.
It is vital that you slowly acclimatise first by taking cold showers.
And before plunging into an ice bath, gradually introduce your body to the ice water – feet, then legs, torso and so on.
