Parents too shy to read to their kids
TWO-thirds of parents say they are too embarrassed to read their children a bedtime story.
A new poll discovered that 64% feel selfconscious and awkward.
And 27% say they can’t express the story dramatically enough to hold their youngster’s attention.
Of the 1,000 parents questioned, more than a third (34%) say they are terrible at doing the voices for different characters.
Now Aldi’s baby range Mamia has teamed up with Royal Shakespeare Company actor Sandy Grierson to produce a video masterclass in how to read to children.
Sandy said: “For those parents who suffer from bedtime story stage fright, I hope this masterclass is a helpful tool to make bedtime stories with children a moment to savour.”
