Aykroyd and wife split but ‘still married’
GHOSTBUSTERS star Dan Aykroyd has parted from his wife after nearly 40 years of marriage.
The actor, 69, and Donna Dixon, 64, said they had amicably split but still had a “loving friendship”.
The pair told People Magazine in a joint statement: “After 39 years as a couple we are now on separate life paths.
“We remain legally married, co-parents, co-workers and business partners. This is our choice in loving friendship.”
The pair married in 1983 shortly after meeting on the set of comedy Doctor Detroit that year.
Aykroyd was previously briefly engaged to the late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher – but it ended when she reconciled with musician Paul Simon.
