Kat ‘perfect’ for a top job

SIMON KATICH would accept a coaching job if the ECB decide to go Down Under in their bid to take England back to the top of the world.

The former Aussie opener (above) sees no barriers to taking on either the white-ball or Test role, after it was revealed they will be split following Chris

Silverwood’s departure. “I think Simon would be perfect for either role,” said a senior figure in Australian cricket.

“He has good cricket brain, he’s calm and he’s a straight shooter.

“Simon does have a young family, which would make it tough.

“But I believe he would take the role if it was offered to him.”
