CRISTIANO RONALDO could make a sensational return to newly-crowned La Liga champions Real Madrid this summer.

The 37-year-old superstar striker (below) has delivered another outstanding season of goals at Manchester

United after his £12.85million switch from Juventus last summer.

Despite United’s shocking form, Ronaldo has scored 23 goals – 17 in the Premier League.

His performances in England have caused a stir at the Bernabeu with senior figures in Madrid plotting a Ronaldo return for just £10m.

Although he penned a two-year deal, with the option of an extra year when he returned from Italy, the landscape at Old Trafford has changed so much in the last seven months, and now Ronaldo’s future is uncertain.

United are preparing for their third manager in less than a calendar year, with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag ready to start a huge rebuild this summer.

With three games left of United’s disastrous season, Ronaldo has lots of thinking to do. Top of his agenda will be assurances from

Ten Hag that he’ll play the bulk of games – a promise the Dutchman may not be able to make.
