Dunny’s Hairdryer
LOOKING at the National League table ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, it would have been a brave or silly man or woman to bet against the play-off final not being between two teams from north of Watford Gap.
Yet where will that prestigious, crucial match take place on Sunday, June 5?
At the home of West Ham United, close to a shopping centre in East London, of course.
So, it could well be Halifax versus Grimsby in an outpost of the capital.
It is understandable that a venue has to be sorted in advance but surely a Midlands location would be the safest bet.
Instead, you can only presume the National League executives have chosen the most financially lucrative option.
Because not only are they taking it to an inconvenient location . . . they are not even taking it to a football stadium.
