Taliban bring back burqas
THE Taliban has ordered all women in Afghanistan to wear burqas.
The hardliners seized power again in August and banned females from secondary education.
Woman must now don the head-to-toe garment in public. Afghanistan’s supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada said: “It is traditional and respectful.”
The strict move evokes similar curbs from when the Taliban last ruled between 1996 and 2001.
