Tot vanished in shop
Katrice vanished on a birthday shopping trip with mum Sharon and aunt Wendy.
Sharon left her with Wendy at the Naafi checkout as she’d forgotten crisps for the tot’s party. When she returned, Wendy said Katrice had run after her.
Richard was by the car and began a frantic search. Since that day in 1981 a nearby lake has been dredged due to fears she fell in. Retired Sgt Major Richard, who discovered there were 15 sex offenders in the area that day, says: “I believe she was abducted and is out there somewhere.” The RMP have told him they would only reopen the search if new evidence came to light.
