Countdown me in, says TV’s Vanessa

-

The long-running feud between Vanessa Feltz and Queen of

Mean Anne Robinson shows no sign of abating.

After hearing that Anne was quitting as Countdown host, Vanessa claims she would be much nicer to the crew than Anne, who was said to have had clashed with co-star Rachel Riley.

“I don’t know why she has ended it,” Vanessa tells me at the Aria awards. “But I would love to do it. So if they ask, I’m in.

“Tell them I am cheaper than Anne Robinson. I shall be polite, I shall be charming and I am already friendly with Rachel as we did Strictly together.

“As far as I am concerned, she can be as loud as she likes and as vibrant as she likes. She can play rap music on the set as loud as she likes. I would not be nasty and snide.”

The broadcasting legends got off to a bad start when Vanessa appeared on a celebrity version of The Weakest Link in 2006.

She was shocked when thenhost Anne commented on her

relationship with AngloNigerian singer Ben Ofoedu,

who became Vanessa’s fiancé later that year.

The TV star claims that Anne said: “Vanessa Feltz, looking the way you do, how do you think you land all these big black boyfriends?”

Vanessa hit back at her “racist” remark, but the clip wasn’t aired.
