Save money & the planet

-

My son Zac is growing so fast it’s costing me a fortune. He’s 14, 5ft 7in and already wears a shoe size 8.

The other day he was in his school PE kit and I was horrified to see that his tracksuit bottoms were virtually shorts. I only bought them a few weeks ago and they weren’t cheap.

I was damned if I was going to spend more money on new kit, so I told him to source a replacement at the school’s second-hand uniform shop.

He came home with a whole set of cricket whites, which looked brand-new and only set me back £20 rather than £60.

Now I’ve sent his uniform, which no longer fits, to the second-hand shop.

It’s a great way of helping another parent – and saving the planet.
