How money is linked to our state of mind

According to a survey by moneyandhealth.org, there are several links between money and mental health.

Almost half (46%) of people who struggle with debt have mental health problems.

Of those, 18% are in problematic debt.

When surveyed, 93% of people with mental health problems said they always spent more money when they weren’t feeling well.

Some 92% also told how they found it harder to make financial decisions when they were unwell.

More than a third (36%) of people experiencing a common mental disorder like depression or anxiety have never been given an official diagnosis.
