Harry stand puts Joe in the shade
JOE ROOT hit 75 for Yorkshire but was upstaged by England hopeful Harry Brook.
In his first innings of the summer, former England Test skipper Root (above) looked in good form before team-mate Brook (110 not out) took over to continue his blistering start to the season.
Dawid Malan was also again in the runs as Yorkshire piled up 425-5 - a lead of 22 over Essex.
Surrey strengthened their position at the top of Division One as they beat Northants by an innings and five runs inside three days at The Oval.
