Alcaraz Djok-out
Madrid Open CARLOS ALCARAZ yesterday continued his rapid rise with a three-set victory over world No.1 Novak Djokovic to reach the final of the Madrid Open.
The Spanish teenager (above) followed up his stunning quarterfinal win over Rafa Nadal on Friday with a 6-7 7-5 7-6 success over Djokovic, 34.
The 19-year-old delighted the home crowd with some brilliant drop shots and held his nerve under pressure from the Serbian star.
He also carved out a place in history as the first player to beat 21-time Grand Slam champion Nadal and 20-time major winner Djokovic on consecutive days on a clay court.
