Pioli’s plea to AC

-

European Round-Up

AC MILAN boss Stefano Pioli challenged his players to prove they are the best in Italy when they face HELLAS VERONA tonight.

Victory would allow Milan to reclaim top spot in Serie A from city rivals INTER MILAN, who have a one-point lead after beating EMPOLI 4-2 on Friday.

Milan are bidding to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2011 and have three games left to play – one more than Inter.

“We need seven points to do something extraordinary and to show that we are the best in this league,” said Pioli. “We have to play as Milan, then if we win 1-0 or with a few more goals the important thing is to be a team and play with emotion.”

Yesterday, Fabian Ruiz (below) secured victory for NAPOLI at TORINO and a likely third place. Napoli are four points ahead of Juventus with two games left.

Elsewhere, two-goal Julian Brandt helped BORUSSIA DORTMUND beat FURTH 3-1 in the Bundesliga.
