Fallen soldiers go home in bodybags

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

THE bodies of Russian soldiers are piled up and hauled into a refrigerated train carriage by the Ukrainian army.

The white body bags were loaded up to be sent home after one colonel said Moscow had refused to claim its dead.

Morgue workers also told how they had found gold in some soldiers’ pockets, likely looted from Ukrainian civilians.

The slaughtered Russians – killed in Chernihiv, Kyiv, and several other areas – were taken to a rail yard just outside the capital, the country’s chief civil-military liaison officer Volodymyr Lyamzin said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed 27,000 Russian soldiers have died since the war began.
