Choc news: A bar that is good for you
IT sounds too good to be true but a UK firm claims it has developed a healthy chocolate bar.
The cocoa-free product is made with a secret combination of barley, carob powder and other plant-based ingredients loaded with antioxidants.
And WNWN Food Labs says it generates 80% fewer CO2 emissions in the fermentation process than conventional brands, so it is good for the planet too.
Co-founder Johnny Drain says the new chocolate has “a set of the same flavour compounds found in cocoa”. He also hopes it will help combat problems linked to supply chains, such as child labour.
Limited edition £10 boxes go on sale this week, initially through the firm’s site wnwnfoodlabs.com.
