Eat your way to healthy skin
Although a good diet will never replace SPF when it comes to preventing sunburn, the foods you eat can help protect your skin against long-term damage.
“The vitamins and antioxidants in fresh vegetables help to protect cells from the effects of UV radiation,” explains clinical nutritionist Suzie Sawyer (feelaliveuk.com).
“Leafy greens and tomatoes are particularly good, as are berries, beans, nuts and tea.”
Omega-3 fats also help reduce sun damage.
“Good sources include fish (like sardines and salmon), eggs, flaxseed, and walnuts,” Suzie adds.
