Buatsi fighting to be a Brit special...

- BOXING BY TOM HOPKINSON

JOSHUA BUATSI would love a Battle of Britain to rage alongside his pursuit of a lightheavyweight world title.

The 29-year-old is one of seven Brits ranked in the light-heavies’ top 10 with at least one governing body.

Callum Smith, Anthony Yarde, Dan Azeez, Lyndon Arthur, Callum Johnson and Craig Richards –

Buatsi’s opponent on Saturday – complete the set.

Buatsi hopes his clash with Richards at London’s O2 Arena will be his last before a world title shot.

But he would also love to formalise domestic bragging rights.

Buatsi said: “There’s a good crop of us in Britain and I’ve said before that unless we all fight each other, it’s hard to say, ‘I’m No.1 or he’s No.1’.

“It’d be crazy if we could do something like a little Super Six. Me and Yarde should happen for sure.”
