Roy:Vardy’s Qatar player
ROY HODGSON reckons nobody should rule out Jamie Vardy banging in a crucial goal or two for England at the World Cup finals in Qatar.
The Leicester ace, 35, officially retired from international football in 2018. But before last summer’s Euros, Gareth Southgate revealed he was in talks with the striker about a shock recall – only for injury to end that possibility.

Hodgson (above), who gave Vardy his first cap in 2015, said: “I don’t know if Jamie’s retired forever or just taken a pause – but he deserves consideration.
“Even if Gareth doesn’t bring him in as his No.1, he could still use him in certain games.”
