Opening last month, The Standard Ibiza is the White Isle’s latest hot hotel to grace its shores, fronting the main plaza, Vara de Rey, in the heart of the Old Town.

The American hip hotel brand’s second launch in Europe is set in a dazzling white building offering 53 suites with 14-room private residence, Casa Privado, a block away.

Embracing the island’s hippie legacy of the 1960s, decor is bright and eclectic, and the landscaping lush. Street-level restaurant Jara spills out onto the plaza, serving a farm-to-table menu.

And from rooftop pool and hideout Up, you can watch the sun set to the Balearic beats of DJ sets.

Opening rates from £216 a night and from £467 in high season. standardhotels.com ■■CitizenM is gearing up to launch its fourth London hotel in Victoria in July, marking 10 years since the Dutch chain opened its first property in the capital at Bankside.
