Tycoon gong after ‘bailing out Charles’
PRINCE Charles gave a Tory grandee a royal award after accepting £1.7million to save his failed ecovillage, reports claim.
The heir’s pet project got the cash from Conservative peer Lord Brownlow.
The Prince’s Foundation also gave the businessman’s firm a £1.2million construction deal.
And it opened Charles’ beloved Dumfries House for the Lord’s 50th party, the Sunday Times said.
The tycoon got the Companion of the Royal Victorian Order in 2018 – a year after the bailout.
A Clarence House spokesman said: “Chairpersons of charities closely associated with the royal family are often appointed to the Royal Victorian Order to thank them for their public service.”
