MP criticises NHS over its IVF ‘lottery’

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

A LABOUR MP who had private IVF treatment has slammed the NHS for not doing enough for women.

Feryal Clark criticised the “postcode lottery” endured by those seeking fertility treatment.

Speaking to Gloria De Piero on GB News about her struggle to conceive, she said: “Women are so hard done by the NHS on every front, but on fertility and IVF it’s just so unfair.

“Some places only allow you one round of IVF, some places allow three.

“And it didn’t work through the NHS so then I had to go private.

“That’s really damning – that women are being forced to go private.”

The MP for Enfield North added: “But I have a daughter now who is 13 months old.”
