Five killed in earthquakes
AT least five people died after a magnitude-6.1 earthquake hit southern Iran yesterday.
The area was also later hit by two stronger quakes of up to 6.3 magnitude.
Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, the emergency chief in Hormozgan province, said: “Five people have died in the earthquake and so far 12 are hospitalised.
“All of the victims died in the first earthquake and no one was harmed in the next quakes as people were outside their homes.”
